Off Camera Flash Photography Meetup

Saturday 11 May
Sunday Road, Stockbridge, GA - 11:30am - 2 Hours
Helen Thomas
This 2 hour meetup focuses on working with Off Camera Flash, also known as OFC. We will practice using OFC to light a subject and have the creative control we want between the background and subject. Often, available light in an area is not enough to separate the subject from the background. By working with OFC we have more control over the lighting between our subject and the background.

Photoshop Layering Photography Meetup

Photoshop Layering Photography Meetup

Saturday 08 June
Sunday Road, Stockbridge, GA - 11:30am - 2 Hours
Helen Thomas
This is a two hour meetup to practice working with layers in Adobe Photoshop. The biggest issue many photographers tell me they have with Photoshop is understanding how to work with layers. Layers allow you to make adjustments without altering the original image and be able to make changes to those adjustments at any time during the editing process.

This class will be held locally in the Sunday House Studio.

The full snow Moon of Feb 23rd 2024.I've been planning for a composition like this for few days. After mapping locations using Google Earth Pro and Google maps, I finally decided to go with full moon rising over the Buckhead skyline.Setup the camera, layed on the ground and just enjoyed watching the moon slowly rise over the skyline. It was beautiful. .Shot on Sony A7RV Sigma 150-600mm, with @peakdesign aluminum tripod.

Title or Location: South Carolina Botanical Garden near Clemson University on 2/7/2024
Was bored and just pointed the car north on I-75 looking for something to photograph. The Botanical Garden has always been a favorite for birds, because they have several feeders in their pollination garden. So I landed there and just waited. This bird was not close, like the others. But I was using a 200-600 mm lens that I'd rented, so distance actually made it better for composition.

This was my first attempt at astrophotography in Brisbane and was a trial shot more than anything. I went looking for an eastern facing foreground knowing that the Milky Way core would be rising at around 10pm from the east, leaving me few options where light pollution wouldn't be an issue. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too harsh at vic point. I loved the foreground and the lightning in the distance on the horizon, and the satellite creaping in was another unexpected surprise with th

Dearing the eclipse of 2017 my family and I sat in our backyard here in WA to watch the 93 totality with our eclipse glasses. With my homemade solar filter attached to my camera, I took a series of photos of the sun during the eclipse. After processing my sun photos, I was disappointed to see that the moon only showed up as a black hole and not its proper form. I am an avid shooter of Astro photography and have several photos of the moon taken from my backyard and multiple other locations. I
